Rev. Patrick Muhwezi

Rev. Patrick Muhwezi is an ordained Anglican priest currently serving at Second Hope Counseling Centre in Mbarara City North, Western Region of Uganda. He was born in Masha, Isingiro District.

After a powerful personal encounter with Jesus Christ in 2009, his life changed completely. From catechist and lay preacher, to commissioned Lay Reader in 2015, to ordained minister, his journey is a testimony of radical grace.

His ministry spans healing and deliverance, counselling, discipleship, and community outreach. He has served at All Saints Church, St. James Cathedral Ruharo, St. Peter Kigaaga Parish, and Second Hope Counseling Centre — with over 8,000 people impacted through his ministry.

He holds an ongoing MSc in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor's Degree in Theology, integrating deep spiritual ministry with professional pastoral care.

His Story

A Life Transformed by Grace

Early Life

Born in Masha, Isingiro District

Patrick Muhwezi was born in Masha, Isingiro District, in the Western Region of Uganda. His early years were marked by rebellion, twelve years as a skilled hunter, frequenting night discos, and exposure to harmful content that drew him into destructive behaviours and bad vices.

2009

Encounter with Jesus Christ

The turning point of his life came when he encountered Jesus Christ in a personal and transformative way. He received Jesus as his Lord and Personal Saviour and became a catechist and lay preacher, passionately committed to teaching and proclaiming the Word of God.

2015

Commissioned as Anglican Lay Reader

Commissioned as an Anglican Lay Reader, he faithfully served for eight years across multiple parishes — All Saints Church Mbarara, St. James Cathedral Ruharo, and St. Peter Kigaaga Parish — ministering in both urban and rural settings with dedication and love for God's people.

Now serving as an ordained Anglican priest at Second Hope Counseling Centre in Mbarara City North, Rev. Patrick continues his ministry of preaching the Gospel, healing and deliverance, counselling, and community outreach.
